01Booking and cost
- How much is a consultation?
- £30, and it comes off the cost of your treatment if you decide to go ahead — so if you book, the consultation effectively costs nothing. If you decide not to proceed, the £30 covers the assessment time. There is never any obligation to book.
- What happens at the first appointment?
- Usually a 10–15 minute conversation by phone or video first, then a full-face assessment in clinic. Medical history, medication and allergies are taken, and you are given a plan and a price before anything goes ahead.
- Do I pay a deposit?
- A deposit secures your appointment and comes off the treatment cost. It is explained clearly when you book.
- Can I spread the cost?
- Payment plans are available on many treatments. Ask at consultation.
02Safety and suitability
- Do you treat under-18s?
- No. It has been a criminal offence in England since 1 October 2021 to administer wrinkle-relaxing injections or dermal filler for a cosmetic purpose to anyone under 18, and to arrange such an appointment. Date of birth is confirmed at booking.
- Will you ever tell me no?
- Yes, and reasonably often. If a treatment is not clinically indicated, if the result you want is not safely achievable, or if I think the honest answer is to do nothing, I will say so and explain why.
- What happens if something goes wrong?
- You are given a direct number before you leave. Hyaluronidase is held on site and I am trained in the management of vascular occlusion. If a complication needs care beyond what I can provide, I will refer you and stay involved.
- Can I have treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
- No. Injectable cosmetic treatment is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
03Treatment
- Will people be able to tell?
- That is exactly what the approach is designed to avoid. The results I am proud of are the ones where people are told they look well rather than asked what they have had done.
- How long until I can go back to normal?
- Most treatments allow you to return to normal activity the same day, though swelling and bruising are possible. Avoid exercise, alcohol and heat for 24–48 hours. Do not book injectables within two to three weeks of an event.
- Why can't I see before-and-after photos for anti-wrinkle treatment?
- The medicine used is prescription-only, and UK advertising rules do not permit prescription-only medicines to be promoted to the public — including through result photographs. Any clinic showing you those images online is breaching those rules. Relevant examples are shown in person at consultation.
- Do you offer a review appointment?
- Yes, at two weeks, so we can assess the result together and adjust if anything needs it.
04The clinic
- Who will be treating me?
- Ashleigh Trickett, every time. She is a Registered Nurse with a BSc in Nursing and a PGCert in Critical Care from Manchester Metropolitan University, ten years of NHS experience — four in critical care — and advanced facial anatomy education at the Royal College of Surgeons.
- Where are you and is there parking?
- 9 Lilac Terrace, Stacksteads, Bacup, Lancashire OL13 8LG — just off the main Bacup road, with free on-street parking directly outside. Patients travel in from across Rossendale, Burnley, Rochdale, Bury and Accrington.
- Is it a private clinic?
- Yes — appointment only, one patient at a time, no waiting room. Please arrive at your appointment time rather than early.
