A chemical peel uses an acid solution to accelerate the skin's natural exfoliation, bringing fresher skin to the surface and prompting renewal underneath. Peels range from very superficial to medical-grade, and the right depth depends entirely on your skin, your concern and how much downtime you can accommodate.
What it treats
Pigmentation and uneven tone, congestion and breakouts, rough texture, and dullness. Peels are often used as a course alongside a considered home skincare routine, which does more of the work than people expect.
Skin preparation
For pigmentation in particular, preparing the skin beforehand reduces the risk of the peel making things worse. Darker skin types need a more cautious approach and proper preparation — post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a real risk and it is avoidable.
Every treatment begins with a full-face assessment and an honest conversation. If I do not think a treatment is clinically indicated or right for you, I will say so and explain why — including when the answer is to do nothing.

You will be given written aftercare before you leave, and a direct number to reach me on if anything concerns you afterwards. Reviews are offered at two weeks so we can assess the result together and adjust if needed.

Chemical Peels — what people ask
- Will my skin actually peel?
- Sometimes visibly, sometimes not at all. Visible flaking is not a measure of whether the peel worked — plenty of effective peels produce very little shedding.
- How much downtime is there?
- Superficial peels: little to none beyond some redness. Deeper peels: several days of flaking. We agree the depth together based on what you can accommodate.
- Can I have a peel in summer?
- Yes, with disciplined sun protection. For pigmentation concerns specifically, the cooler months are usually the better time to run a course.
