PRP or Purasomes for thinning hair?
Compare the questions to ask about PRP and Purasomes hair appointments, including assessment, evidence, course cost and follow-up before booking.

Charis lists PRP and Purasomes HSC50+ as different hair-treatment options. Choosing between them requires more than comparing a single-session price. Start by establishing the cause of thinning, whether it has been assessed medically and what outcome would be realistic before considering an aesthetic course.
Establish what needs assessing first
Hair loss has different causes. The NHS advises speaking to a GP before going to a commercial hair clinic. Bring the history of the change and details of previous assessments or treatments to your consultation.
Do not treat a product comparison as a diagnosis. Ask whether the pattern and history need medical investigation before discussing a cosmetic procedure, particularly if the change is new, sudden or unexplained.
What to compare at the consultation
| Question | Why to ask |
|---|---|
| What exactly happens at this appointment? | The existing Charis PRP page describes a blood draw and scalp treatment; the Purasomes page describes a different product and delivery process. |
| What evidence applies to my type of thinning? | A proposed mechanism is not the same as evidence of benefit for your situation. |
| What is the full course price? | A single-session fee does not establish the number of visits or maintenance commitment. |
| How will we judge whether it is helping? | Agree consistent photographs, a review point and what would lead to changing or stopping the plan. |
Ask the practitioner to explain uncertainties as well as expected benefits. The fact that an option is newer, or does not involve a blood draw, does not establish that it will work better for you.

Three questions before a newer treatment
Which product?
Ask for the exact product, ingredients and route of use.
What evidence?
Ask what human studies support this use and what remains uncertain.
What review?
Agree realistic expectations and how progress will be assessed.
A decision checklist. It does not imply proven effectiveness or regulatory approval.
Plan the cost and the journeys
Use the current PRP and Purasomes price pages as a starting point. Request a written outline of the proposed course, appointment spacing, reviews and any additional products or maintenance before committing.
For patients coming from farther away, the number of journeys matters. Discuss how progress will be reviewed and when you must attend in person. Do not assume photographs sent remotely can replace every review.
Make the decision after assessment
You do not need to choose a product before asking for help. Bring your concerns, history and questions, then ask whether either treatment is appropriate and what alternatives should be considered with a healthcare professional.
A worthwhile consultation should leave you understanding the limits, costs and next steps, including the possibility that an aesthetic treatment is not the right next step.
