In short

Jawline filler sharpens the border between face and neck by placing firm hyaluronic acid along the mandible, lasting twelve to eighteen months.

How long it lasts
12 to 18 months
When you see it
immediately, settled at 2 to 4 weeks
Downtime
swelling for a few days, bruising possible
Does it hurt
mild to moderate; the angle of the jaw is the tender part
Sessions
one, assessed with the chin as one structure

A defined jawline depends on bone, on the ligaments holding soft tissue against it, and on the fat sitting over it. All three change with age: the jaw bone itself resorbs, the ligaments slacken, and tissue slides forward to form jowls. Treatment restores the underlying angle so the soft tissue has something to sit against again.

What it treats

Early jowling and loss of a clean jaw line. A naturally softer jawline in a younger patient. And asymmetry, which is more common than people realise and often unnoticed until it is pointed out.

It is usually planned together with the chin, because treating the jaw in isolation can leave the profile unbalanced.

What it will not do

It does not remove significant jowling or loose skin. Where laxity is the dominant problem, filler along the jaw makes it heavier rather than sharper, and I will say so. That is a surgical conversation, or one about skin quality first.

Every treatment begins with a full-face assessment and an honest conversation. If I do not think a treatment is clinically indicated or right for you, I will say so and explain why — including when the answer is to do nothing.

What to expect

You will be given written aftercare before you leave, and a direct number to reach me on if anything concerns you afterwards. Reviews are offered at two weeks so we can assess the result together and adjust if needed.

Not suitable if

  • Significant skin laxity or established jowling
  • Anyone under 18

Common questions

Jawline Filler — what people ask

How much product does a jawline take?
More than most people expect — it is a large area and firm product is needed for structure. You will be given a realistic figure at consultation, and the plan can be staged across appointments.
Will it get rid of my jowls?
It can improve early jowling by restoring the angle behind it. Established jowls with significant skin laxity are not a filler problem.
Is it just for men?
No. The technique differs — male jawlines are treated for width and angularity, female jawlines for a clean taper — but both are common.
